This is an early and hard to find set of beautiful old spongeware bowls most likely made in the mid nineteenth century. These shallow bowls are blue and white sponge painted with a scalloped edge and raised border scrolling. The backs are sponge painted as well. The pictures show the front and back of each bowl.
These are excellent condition given their age. There are a FEW very MINOR utensil marks that you can see if held to the light but that’s about it. There are no chips, repairs or any other damage. These bowls have survived the test of time (over 100 years) and still look great. 
They measure 9” in diameter. Includes is the 1 1/2” rim.
There are no makers marks.
