APC NetShelter 1U Rack Automatic Transfer Switch 208V

The APC AP4434A is an automatic transfer switch that mounts in a 1U rack position and delivers redundant power to single-corded devices. By monitoring two independent 208 V sources and switching in less than 10 ms, it keeps servers, storage arrays, and network gear running without a noticeable break in operation when a primary feed fails.

With a 20 A, 3300 VA rating, the switch distributes power through eight IEC C13 and one IEC C19 outlet. Two IEC C20 input cords connect to separate branch circuits or UPS systems, providing true redundancy while using only a single rack unit of space.

An integrated APC NMC3 network card lets you view load levels, set thresholds, and update firmware through a secure Web interface, SNMP, or a command line session. The same interface links to EcoStruxure IT for fleet-wide visibility and supports optional environmental sensors for temperature and humidity reporting.

Installation is straightforward. The unit fits any standard 19 inch rack, and its black finish blends with NetShelter enclosures already in place. It is a practical choice for edge closets, branch offices, and small to mid-size data centers where equipment relies on a single power inlet but still demands high availability.

A two year warranty is included, and an optional five year extension is available for organizations that prefer longer coverage.
