Hand made ceramic sculpture of a seated beige cat crafted by artisans from Sejnane Tunisia, North Africa. Sejnane pottery is listed as a part of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO as of 2018.
All stages of this 3,000 year old traditional craft are performed by women. All pieces are sculpted and painted by hand and the variations and fluctuations in color are a result of the firing process. These terracotta figurines are often decorated with geometrical patterns reminiscent of traditional tattoos and Berber weaving.
