Very Primitive wood and metal ice skates.
Although I can not be certain. Based on viewing hundreds of pairs of antique and vintage ice skates this particular pair appears to be from the Civil War Era. The runners appear to be hand forged. There are no markings on the runners denoting a manufacturer.
The skates are wood and metal. The wood appears to have been charred....which gives them a really cool patina and unique appearance. There are some exposed brass embellishments which one does not often see in old skates. This pair of antique ice skates are heavy weighting 2 1/2 pounds.
They are of English style however with immigration at the time America often copied the English style as the runners are thick,heavy and chunky.
